| Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What vaccinations are required for my dog to attend or participate?

All dogs who attend The Retreat are required to be current on distemper/parvo, rabies, bordetella, & canine influenza. If you have an older dog, we recommend having titers drawn to assess immunity prior to multiple vaccinations. Once vaccinations/titers are on file with us you will only need to provide them upon expiration.

2.)  What time is check-in and check-out?

          Check-in:  Monday-Saturday 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm, Sunday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm.  Check-out:  Monday-Saturday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, Sunday 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Late check-out and early check-in are available upon request but does include a $17 fee for half-day play to accommodate the time.

3.)  What do I need to bring with me for boarding?

We provide everything they need with exception of food and any medications.  If you haven't already provided a copy of current vaccinations, you will need to bring these with you also. You are welcome to bring additional items from home if you prefer, such as a blanket, bed, toys, etc. however, we cannot guarantee their safe return upon check-out.

4.)  My dog eats refrigerated food, or a special diet, can you accommodate?

Absolutely! Upon check-in we will review your dog's normal diet and feeding times with you, as we like to keep it very close to what they are familiar with.  We offer refrigeration and a microwave to assist in keeping your pup on the same diet as home.

5.)  Will you give my dog their daily medication?

Medications are administered at the same time and dosage as the dog would receive at home.  This will be reviewed with you at the time of check-in to ensure the accuracy. There is a medication administration charge that applies unless the dog takes the medication directly with their meal.

6.)  I would like to receive updates about my dog's stay, can you do that?

Text and photo updates are always so much fun! We offer daily updates in each of our boarding packages, and it's also available as an individual add-on per day.  You will receive a photo of your dog along with a short message about how their stay is going.  Text updates typically start the day after check-in, unless requested otherwise.

7.)  Is group play required?

No, it is not required for your dog to play or socialize with others.  We have multiple play yards that allow for plenty of space for individual play time if you so choose, or if your dog doesn't respond well to others in the same area.

8.)  I'm worried that my dog is an escape artist...

No worries! We've got it all under control! If your dog is a jumper, climber, digger, or will do about anything to try and escape, we won't take our eyes off of them.  Additionally, they will participate in outdoor play time in the play yard which features an 8' tall fence to assist in deterring them.

9.)  How do I know which size suite I should reserve?

Suite size is based on personal preference, along with the size of your dog and if you will be boarding multiple dogs together. For dogs under thirty pounds, we recommend the 6x6 Suite with Villa Access. For one dog boarding by itself that is 30-70 pounds, we suggest the 6x6 with Private Outdoor (unless you just want him/her to have a little more leg room).  For a dog that is taller or a larger breed, the 8x8 and 8x10 suites are optimal, due to all of the larger suites having an oversized door plus they offer ample indoor room.  If you are boarding more than one dog, we will be happy to assist you on reserving the best one in regard to their size and how many you will be boarding together in the same suite.

10.)  Can I come to visit and take a tour before booking?

Not only can you come by for a visit, but we also encourage you to do so and to bring your doggo along with you! There is no need for an appointment, just stop by anytime during business hours and we will show you around.  If we haven't had the opportunity to meet your pupper yet, this is a great time for their first introduction!
